Thomas Hubbard Recreation and Natural Area

Thomas Hubbard Recreation and Natural Area: The property immediately to the north of South Pointe, a former farm, is owned by the city of South Burlington and when fully developed with be a Nature Public Park. The city hopes to start its development in the summer of 2020. Currently there are mowed walking trails which are good for walking as well as x-cross country skiing when there is snow. The park and its trails can be accessed from South Pointe via a trail established on the city right-of-way that goes from the north end of Parkside Drive to the property line.  The mowed walkways lead to some spectacular views both east and west and give walkers a way to Nowland Farm Road without having to cross Spear Street twice and walk along its inadequate shoulders. The bridge at the beginning of the informal trail that leads from Upswept Lane to the park was built by talented volunteers from South Pointe. The distance from our boundary to Nowland Farm Road is about a quarter of a mile.
